Our occupational therapist works closely with our patient’s physician and assists patients in developing maximum self-care activities directed toward the return of a former function, such as:
- Dressing
- Eating
- Toileting
- Bathing
The occupational therapist may formulate activities that will restore the patient’s ability to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Independent Activities of Daily Living (IADL) like:
- Making adaptive eating utensils and dressing devices
- Fashioning home exercise programs designed to promote ADL retraining
- Activities that will develop and improve motor skills training
- Implementing a neuro-developmental sensory treatment and
- Devising a perceptual-motor training
